Band Program

Terms And Conditions

By accepting your band enrolment with us, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions:


Instruments

  • All band members are required to have an instrument in time for their first rehearsal.
  • Each student is responsible for the hire or purchase of his or her instrument. MusicLinks will be available to advise and assist. 


Commitment

  • All Concert band members must aim to commit to the program for the entire school year.
  • Band and String Rehearsals take place in weeks 1-9 of each term.
  • Sometimes a performance will replace a rehearsal if they fall on the same day or subsequent days of a scheduled rehearsal.
  • Any band member wishing to discontinue his/her band program enrolment should complete this CANCELLATION FORM at least 4 weeks prior to the end of the term. 
  • Missed band rehearsals and group lessons are not refundable. 


 Private/Pair/Group lessons on-site at your school


  • Private lessons: We will offer one make-up credit per term.
  • Pair and Group lessons: there are no make-up credits for pair and group lessons as the lesson needs to take place for the other participants.
  • Lesson cancellations must take place via our online portal. Informing your teacher directly is not sufficient.  
  • One make-up lesson per term is permitted for students having private lessons only:

     - If the lesson is scheduled before school, the cancellation must take place via the portal            before 7:30 pm the night before.

     - If the lesson is during the school day or after school, the cancellation must take place                via the portal before 7:30 am on the day of the lesson.

  • The studio shall not assume any financial responsibility for a student’s absence(s). Lesson rates are set packaged fees, and shall not be lowered nor refunded for missed lessons.
  • If you have a make-up credit allocated, the make up lesson can be scheduled at a time mutually convenient for the student and teacher. If you cannot find a time to work, the make up credit will appear on your next invoice as a credit/balance brought forward.
  • make up credits cannot be rolled over to the new term.
  • MusicLinks cannot alter term dates to accomodate private school term dates or family holidays
  • Please note: In the case of shared lessons, there will be no make-up credits.
  • Students are asked not to attend lessons when unwell. In this case we can offer online lessons in replacement of in-person lessons.


Expectations

All band members are required to: 

  • bring their instrument/s and all relevant music to each band rehearsal.
  • attend all rehearsals and performances as advised. 
  • practice their instrument at home on a regular basis. 
  • behave appropriately during all band rehearsals. 
  • have a private weekly lesson or group lesson on their instrument.
  • Follow the school’s Code of Conduct at all times. 
  • We reserve the right to refuse or terminate participation to anyone at any time without notice or reason. 


 Fees

  • The fee package is calculated annually and charged 4 times a year at the beginning of each term. It includes all performances and rehearsals for the year. Workshops and Band Camps attract additional fees and will be communicated at the time of registration. Band Camps and Workshops are not compulsory but highly encouraged.
  • Invoices will be sent out during the holidays and payment is due before the first lesson of term. Payment is due 10 days after the invoice date.
  • You can elect to pay annualised fees over equal monthly instalments. Monthly instalments are via automated credit card payments only.
  • Band Fees are not refundable.
  • Payment can be made via direct deposit or online via credit card.
  • Credit cards will attract a 1.8 % surcharge from the system.
  • Late payments will result in a $10 per week late fee. 
  • Warning emails will be sent for fees, and if they remain unpaid for an amount of time determined at MusicLink’s discretion, will result in removal from the band program.


Photography And Recording

  • Occasionally we will use group photos/videos from concerts or other events on our social media, website or other marketing programs. 
  • Please let us know if you do not want us to photograph or video your child and include them on the type of postings above. Email band@musiclinks.com.au 


Student Welfare

  • MusicLinks tutors are responsible for their students during scheduled lessons and rehearsal sessions only. We do not take responsibility for children outside of these times. 
  • Please notify us if your child has any special needs that may require addressing during these lessons and rehearsal sessions. Email band@musiclinks.com.au


Delivery of Instruments and Equipment

  1. MusicLinks staff do not deliver or collect books, instruments or accessories to/from school or home addresses.
  2. Where delivery or pick up is required, a courier or postage fee is payable.
