Terms And Conditions

Enrolments And Invoices

• Students are enrolled on a continuous basis with fees charged at the start of each term
• Fee packages are annual and then split into 4 equal payments due at the start of each term
• Lesson Structure: In terms 1,2 &3, Lessons take place in weeks 1-9  and week 10 is make up lesson week. Term 4 has lessons weeks 1-8 with week 9 make up lesson week.
• MusicLinks hold a recital in week 9 of Terms 2 and 4 each year. Sometimes the recital is held a little earlier in the term dependant on venue availability.
• Enrolments are automatically carried over to following term to secure your day and time.
• Invoices are sent out prior to the new term commencing. Payment is due 7 days after the invoice date.
• Your lesson time is locked in for the term. If you need to change times please contact the office not your tutor. Please note this may not be possible unless the teacher has availability.

Payments

• All students are invoiced for the full school term.
• gst is applicable to all fees
• Lessons are paid in advance for the term.
• If you stop lessons during the term you must still pay for the full term.
• Credit cards will attract a 1.8 % surcharge from the system.

Late Payment Penalties

• Late payments will result in a $10 plus gst per week late fee.
• Overdue payments may result in the reallocation of the lesson time to another student on our waitlist.
• Warning emails will be sent for unpaid lessons, and if they remain unpaid for an amount of time determined at MusicLink’s discretion, will result in suspension of lessons.

Cancellations And Make Up Lessons

For Private Students

• By enrolling in music lessons you are reserving a set time slot each week for the school term. MusicLinks term dates are the same as NSW public school term dates. Your lesson fees for the term reserve your, or your child’s, regular time for lessons, regardless of whether you choose to attend or miss that scheduled lesson.
• With at least 24 hours notice of cancellation, we will offer one make-up lesson. Please note only one make up lesson is permitted per student per term.
• Lesson cancellations must take place via our online portal. Informing your teacher directly is not sufficient.  
• The studio shall not assume any financial responsibility for a student’s absence(s). Lesson rates are set fees, and shall not be lowered nor refunded for missed lessons.
• Make up lessons take place in the final week of term in the regular lesson time slot. If you cannot make this time, the lesson is forfeited.
• Make up lessons cannot be carried over into the following term.
• MusicLinks can not alter term dates to accomodate private school term dates or family holidays
• Please note: In the case of shared lessons, there will be no make-up lessons.
• Students are not encouraged to attend lessons when unwell. In this case we can offer online lessons in replacement of in-person lessons. This will take place in the regular lesson slot. Please notify Musiclinks by 7.30am on the day of you would like to change to an online lesson. If notice is after 7.30am on the day of the lesson, the lesson will be forfeited

Lateness

• Tutors are booked back to back so if you arrive late to a lesson the lesson will still finish at the usual finish time. 
• With mobile lessons, please allow some time either side of the lesson in case the tutor has traffic between lessons.
  
  

Online Lessons

• It is a student’s responsibility to have a stable internet connection for online lessons. If you are unsure please contact your teacher directly to test your connection before lessons commence.

Teacher Cancellation Of Lesson

• You will be contacted as soon as possible to notify you of the teacher's absence and you will be allocated a relief teacher ( if available), online lesson, make up lesson or video lesson.  Video lesson entails the student sending a recording of their scales and pieces and the teacher will respond with feedback in written or video form. In certain circumstances if none of these options are available you will be offered a credit for the teaching fee for that lesson. The credit will appear on the following term's invoice.
• If there is an unusual situation restricting the tutor to be at your home for a mobile lesson, the lesson will take place online at the usual lesson time.
• If your tutor is away for professional development MusicLinks reserves the right to allocate a substitute teacher.

Covid Policy

• Due to Covid-Safety measures, a tutor or student showing mild signs of sickness or flu must stay at home. An online lesson will be offered in the same time slot for that lesson. Please notify by 7.30am on the day to arrange an online lesson.
• Hand washing before and after lessons is compulsory as well as mask-wearing when required by law.
• In the case of instances beyond our control (covid outbreak, natural disasters etc) lessons will immediately convert to online via zoom unless notified otherwise.
• Unfortunately we can offer no refunds or credits due to Covid-19.

Discontinuation Of Lessons

• Students are enrolled on a term by term basis and cannot discontinue lessons during the term. 
• If a student withdraws once term has commenced, no refunds will be issued. 
• If you wish to cease lessons for the following term, you are required to notify MusicLinks admin via email at least 2 weeks prior to the first day of the new term, or full fees (based on your current enrolment) for the following term will be payable and you will be invoiced accordingly. Please note, written confirmation via email is required.
• If you cease to attend without giving us any notice, you will still be invoiced as per the above.

Creative Kids Vouchers

• Creative Kids Vouchers must be submitted via our online form
• Vouchers must be submitted one (1) week before the start of a new term in order for them to be applied to that terms’ invoice.
• By submitting your voucher you are agreeing that MusicLinks will be using this rebate toward your child’s music lessons or band rehearsals. Vouchers cannot be reimbursed if you decide to cease lessons.
• Once your voucher is successfully submitted to Service NSW the $100 amount will be applied as a credit to your account.

Photography and Recording

• Occasionally we will use photos/videos from concerts or other events on our social media, website or other marketing programs. 
• Please let us know if you do not want us to photograph or video your child and include them on the type of postings above. Email info@musiclinks.com.au 

Band Program

Terms And Conditions

By accepting your band enrolment with us, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions:

Instruments

• All band members are required to have an instrument in time for their first rehearsal.
• Each student is responsible for the hire or purchase of his or her instrument. MusicLinks will be available to advise and assist. 

Commitment

• All Training band members must commit to the program for a minimum of two(2) school terms.
• All Concert band members must commit to the program for the entire school year.
• Any band member wishing to discontinue his/her band program enrolment should email info@musiclinks.com.au at least 4 weeks prior to the end of the term. 
• Missed band rehearsals, pair and group lessons are not refundable. 
• There is no make up lesson for pair or group lessons.

Expectations

All band members are required to: 

• bring their instrument/s and all relevant music to each band rehearsal.
• attend all rehearsals and performances as advised. 
• practice their instrument at home on a regular basis. 
• behave appropriately during all band rehearsals. 
• have a private weekly lesson or group lesson on their instrument.
• Follow the school’s Code of Conduct at all times. 
• We reserve the right to refuse or terminate participation to anyone at any time without notice or reason. 

Payment Of Fees

• Invoices will be sent out during the holidays and payment is due before the first lesson of term. Payment is due 7 days after the invoice date.
• Band fees are invoiced per term.
• Band Fees are not refundable.
• Payment can be made via direct deposit or online.
• Credit cards will attract a 1.8 % surcharge from the system.
• Late payments will result in a $10 per week late fee. 
• Warning emails will be sent for fees, and if they remain unpaid for an amount of time determined at MusicLink’s discretion, will result removal from the band program.

Photography And Recording

• Occasionally we will use group photos/videos from concerts or other events on our social media, website or other marketing programs. 
• Please let us know if you do not want us to photograph or video your child and include them on the type of postings above. Email info@musiclinks.com.au 

Student Welfare

• MusicLinks tutors are responsible for their students during scheduled lessons and rehearsal sessions only. We do not take responsibility for children outside of these times. 
• Please notify us if your child has any special needs that may require addressing during these lessons and rehearsal sessions. Email info@musiclinks.com.au

Covid Safety

• All students must bring own hand sanitiser, anti-bacterial wipes and pencil. 
• Hand sanitiser must be used before and after each lesson/rehearsal.
• Percussion students must use own mallets and drumsticks at all times.
• In the event of a temporary school closure due to Covid, all lessons will move to an online platform.
